January 5, 2024: Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a criminal case in Ranchi against two officials named Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports Management, alleging that they have duped him of over Rs 15 Crore.

The cricketer said Diwakar allegedly signed an agreement with Dhoni in 2017 to establish a cricket academy globally. But Diwakar failed to stick to the terms mentioned in the agreement. Aarka Sports Management was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits as per the agreement's terms, which were not honoured. Despite repeated reminders, the terms and conditions specified in the agreement were allegedly disregarded.

Simant Lohani, one of the friends of MS Dhoni, has also filed a complaint alleging that he was threatened and abused by Mihir Diwakar after they took legal action against Aarka Sports.

Dayanand Singh, representing MS Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, has asserted that they were deceived and cheated by Aarka Sports, resulting in a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.
