March 21, 2023: The Punjab Government informed that the mobile internet services will be restored in some places of Punjab today (March 21) after 12 PM.

The internet services were suspended by the government amid the search operation to nab the “Waris Punjab De” chief Amritpal Singh.

Amritpal Singh Sandhu is a self-styled Indian Khalistani and a fugitive from Punjab. He returned from Dubai to India to become the leader of the organisation “Waris Panjab De” after the death of its previous leader Deep Sidhu in a car accident but his position is disputed. He is alleged to have many links to Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence and terror groups.

On the other hand, the broadband service was not suspended so that banking and hospital services don’t get disrupted.
