August 31, 2024: As the farmers protest completes 200 days on Saturday, farmers have planned to gather in significant numbers to mark this milestone at Shambhu border today.

Farmers have been stationed at the Shambhu border since February 13, after authorities prevented their march to Delhi. The protests are demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all corps, among other key issues.

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat and supporter of the farmers’ movement, is likely to be honoured by the farmers during the day’s events.

The farmers have called for strict action against Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut. Farmers have urged BJP to take a firm stand against Kanagana Ranaut, whose remarks have previously sparked controversy and opposition among the farming community.
