March 28, 2024: The Delhi High Court on Thursday rejected a PIL seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi liquor policy case on March 21.

A Bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet P. S. Arora said, “This court is of the view that there is no scope for judicial interference. It is for the other wing of the government to examine the issue in accordance with the law”.

The plea was moved by one Surjit Singh Yadav, a Delhi resident claiming to be a farmer and social worker. He claimed that a Chief Minister accused of a financial scandal should not be permitted to continue in public office.

A day ago, the Delhi High Court did not allow any interim relief to Kejriwal. He was remanded to ED custody till March 28.
