The announcement was made during a ceremony in Mumbai, where Shinde was warmly welcomed by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, NCP working president Praful Patel, and State unit chief Sunil Tatkare.

Ajit Pawar expressed his enthusiasm for Shinde’s inclusion, declaring him one of NCP's star campaigners for the elections. He hinted at the possibility of more notable personalities joining the party in the near future.
