April 2, 2024: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday issued an unconditional apology to the Supreme Court for not complying with its order in the misleading advertisements case.



Both Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved's managing director Balkrishna appeared before the court, as directed by the Supreme Court. The company tendered an 'unconditional apology' for breaching the court's order.



This came weeks after the apex court's issued a show cause notices to them, questioning why contempt proceedings shouldn't be initiated against the two.

The Supreme Court also strongly rebuked them for non-compliance with its directives, warning Ramdev to be "ready for action."



As per sources, the SC later allowed one more opportunity to Baba Ramdev to file his response to the alleged contempt proceedings. It also termed his unconditional apology in person to be “lip service”.



Therefore, the Court will now hear the matter on April 10.
