January 16, 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked and stabbed six times by an intruder who broke into his Bandra home in the early hours of Thursday. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. while the actor was reportedly sleeping. Following the attack, Saif was rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that the actor is now out of danger. Saif underwent a 2.5-hour neurosurgery led by Dr. Nitin Dange, and a plastic surgery procedure is still ongoing. A hospital statement revealed that two of the six stab wounds were deep and located near the spine, raising initial concerns about his condition.

The Mumbai Police and Crime Branch have launched an investigation into the incident. An FIR has been registered at the Bandra Police Station, and three house attendants are being questioned. Meanwhile, seven teams have been formed to track the suspect, including one tasked with reviewing CCTV footage and others pursuing leads within and outside Mumbai.

According to preliminary police findings, the intruder broke into Saif’s home and confronted the actor, leading to a scuffle. The attacker stabbed Saif multiple times before fleeing the scene. Authorities suspect an attempted burglary, though further details are awaited.

An official statement from Saif Ali Khan’s team addressed the incident, requesting patience and cooperation from the media and fans:
"There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It’s a police matter, and we will keep you updated on the situation."

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team also issued a similar statement, reassuring fans about the family’s safety:
"There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate further as the police are conducting investigations. Thank you all for your concern."

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had recently returned to Mumbai with their sons after spending the New Year holidays in Switzerland.
