January 25, 2024: A heinous incident came to light where a minor girl was allegedly gang raped by three youths identified as Dipankar Roy, Nilu Malu and Sanjay Barman. The incident took place in Chandrapur, Guwahati.

Reportedly, the victim was taken to a forest in West Mayang on a bike when she asked for help on her way to Jonbeel Mela on January 19. Later, three of them harassed the victim in different places for four days and sent her to Morigaon.

Assam Police have arrested the two accused - Dipankar and Nilu based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. However, the remaining accused is still on the run.
