August 23, 2020: Considering the prevailing situation in the state, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has decided to reduce the curriculum by 30%. The decision was taken to give some relief to the students as the uncertainty over opening of educational institutions still remains.





The AHSEC informed that the court syllabus to be reduced by 30% and the new syllabus will be announced by August 31. This will be applicable to both the first and second year courses. However, the decision has been taken for the 2020-21 academic session only.





The students of higher secondary course have lost 4 months of their classes and with the Covid situation not improving, there is still uncertainty over the reopening of the physical classes. The CBSE has already announced reducing syllabus for its students. The educational institutions have remained closed since mid-March due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
