July 1, 2021: Amid the soaring cases of coronavirus in Assam, the people of Sonitpur district received flowers and masks for violating the Covid protocols on Thursday.

The initiative was done by the Voluntary Blood Donor Association from Balipara area in order to educate the people about strictly following coronavirus-appropriate behaviour to fight the deadly infection.  The people who were not wearing masks in the public area were seen receiving roses and masks in the road.

The police have been strictly following the rules and have collected many cash from the violators.

Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5, 08,484 on Wednesday as 2,479 people tested positive for the infection while 30 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,539, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.
