April 4, 2024: Triggering sensation, a driver of a truck carrying watermelons from Maharashtra to Barpeta Road was allegedly murdered and thrown from the moving vehicle by his co-driver in Sarbhog- Manikpur area of Assam. The incident happened on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the deceased driver was identified as Bibichand of Madhya Pradesh’s Solapur.

When the deceased was thrown from the moving vehicle, some of the farmers who were working at the nearby paddy field immediately rushed towards him and informed to Sarbhog Police about the incident.

After some investigation, police recovered the truck loaded with watermelons from a wholesale vegetable market in Barpeta Road on Wednesday night. But the accused driver is on the run.

The body of the truck driver was sent to Bongaigaon for postmortem and the search operation for the accused is still on.
