August 28, 2021: The cocaine supplier of Kharguli’s scandalous rave party has been arrested by police.

The supplier namely Vishal Choudhury who hails from Delhi has been arrested by the Delhi police.

As per reports, he had couriered the cocaine from Delhi to Guwahati which was consumed in the Kharguli's rave party.

Based on a complaint, Guwahati police on August 13 night raided a private residence inside a high-end apartment complex in Guwahati’s Kharghuli area and arrested 18 people who were allegedly having a party involving contraband drugs.

The police have seized 4 grams of cocaine and 3 types of Weed and Opium from their possession.

As per sources, a rave party was organized to celebrate birthday by flouting COVID-19 SOP at a flat namely Riviera Apts in Kharghuli last night during the curfew hour, where the city police swooped in the flat and arrested 18 people including 5 women attending the party and seized contraband drugs.

The City Police Commissioner, Harmeet Singh informed that police recovered contraband and high-end drugs – cocaine and ganja (different varieties of weeds) – during the raid at the party that was organized at Kharghuli locality in the city.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also informed through his Twitter handle that the Guwahati Police was raiding a drugs party at Kharguli. The tweet mentioned that different types of weed (ganja) and some cocaine were recovered from the scene.

Also, addressing the media persons in Guwahati on August 14, CM Sarma said that people should stop using drugs and those involved in the narcotics trade should not operate in Assam as it would result in strict punishment. The chief minister also informed that banned drugs are being seized every day and recently a consignment of around 2 kilos of heroin was seized in Karbi Anglong worth 3 crore in the international market.
