September 21, 2023: Tension erupted after a ferry carrying 63 passengers, 17 four-wheelers vehicles and two bikes stranded in the Brahmaputra River in Majuli, Assam on Thursday.



Reportedly, the ferry was stuck in the sand due to the rise of the water level in the Brahmaputra River. The stranded ferry was heading towards Kamalabari from Nimati Ghat.



A team of SDRF and the Inland Water Transport Department is working to rescue the ferry.
