September 5, 2023: Tension erupted immediately after a mobile phone, one spectacles and sleepers were recovered from Saraighat Bridge, Guwahati in Assam on Tuesday.

After an investigation, police informed that the recovered items belonged to Gayatri Hazarika who is a constable posted in Paltan Bazar Police. She originally hails from Nagaon.

Police suspected that the Gayatri had allegedly jumped off into the Brahmaputra River from the Saraighat Bridge as they have recovered a note also.

Reportedly, Gayatri was suffering from Jaundice and was deployed in the Silsako eviction site.

However, the reason behind the incident is not known yet and a search operation has begun.
