August 29, 2021: Assam has reported 293 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday taking the toll to 5, 88,318 according to the National Health Mission.

The state now has 5,702 active cases and total 5,640 deaths cases with 4 new deaths.

Out of the new cases, 74 were reported from Kamrup (M), followed by 28 from Jorhat, 23 from  Sivasagar and 21 from Nalbari.

Cachar, Hojai, Kamrup (M) and Udalguri reported one death each.
