June 27, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 caseload jumped to 5,00,644 as 1523 more people tested positive for the virus on Sunday, while 37 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,440, the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin said.



Dibrugarh district and Jorhat district reported 7 deaths each, followed by Sonitpur with 5 deaths, three each from Golaghat and Tinsukia and two deaths from Goalpara.





Barpeta, Biswanath, Cachar, Chirang, Hailakandi,Kamrup (M), Majuli, Morigaon, Sivasagar, and Udalguri reported one death each, it said.



Of the 1523 new COVID-19 cases detected during the day, Kamrup (M)- 149 cases, Sonitpur - 137 cases, Jorhat - 109 cases, Golaghat - 95 cases.

The new cases were detected out of 55,131 tests conducted in the day with the daily positivity rate at 2.76 per cent while the cumulative tests conducted in the state so far is 1,45,22,574.



Assam currently has 25,790 active COVID-19 cases, while 4,69,067 people have recovered from the disease, including 3,261 on Sunday.



The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 93.69 per cent.
