July 18, 2021: Assam’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 5,47,283 on Sunday as 1329 more people tested positive for the infection while 15 fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 4999, the National Health Mission bulletin said.



Kamrup (M) district reported the highest number of new cases at 179, followed by 101 in Golaghat, 98 in Lakhimpur and 95 Dibrugarh.





The number of active cases in the state is 16,468.



Of the 15 fatalities, 2 deaths reported each from Charaideo, Sivasagar, Kamrup (M), and Sonitpur followed one each from Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Hojai and Jorhat.

Total 5,24,469 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection so far.



The current death rate is 0.91 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347.
