May 14, 2020: The numbers of COVID-19 cases in Assam have risen to 86 as 7 persons tested positive who had returned from Mumbai and are now in quarantine.

May 14, 2020: The numbers of COVID-19 cases in Assam have risen to 86 as 7 persons tested positive who had returned from Mumbai and are now in quarantine.



State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "7 patients & attendants who came from Mumbai & now in quarantine tested positive. Cancer: 1.Manoranjan Saha 2.Pradip Kumar Bania 3. Gopindra Chandra Malakar; Heart: 4. 13-year-old (name withheld). Attendants: 5 P Basudev Patowari 6. Nilakantha Deb 7. Mina Rani Bania."



The COVID-19 positive patients identified as Manoranjan Saha, Pradip Kumar Bania, Gopindra Chandra Malakar are suffering from cancer whereas the 13-year-old patient was suffering from heart ailment.



The other COVID-19 positive patients are attendants of the patients.



It may be stated that active cases of COVID-19 in the state are now 44 and 39 were discharged.



Till now positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported so far from Golaghat, Nalbari, Morigaon, Goalpara, Dhubri, South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon, Jorhat districts.
