November 25, 2020: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to veteran Congress leader and former CM of Assam Tarun Gogoi at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra on Wednesday Morning.

Rahul arrived in Guwahati on Wednesday morning in a special flight and directly went to Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra from the LGBI airport.

"He treated me like his own son. It is a personal loss for me. Today we have also lost Ahmed Patel ji, another pillar of the Congress party. It's a tragic day for us," he said after paying tribute to the veteran leader at Kalakshetra.

Further, responding to a query regarding the future of the party in Assam he said, “The party in the state will not be affected by the demise of the veteran leader as the Guru had taught his ‘Shishyas’ to carry out their mission as before.”

Later, he went to Gogoi’s official residence where he met Smt. Dolly Gogoi and expressed his condolence to the bereaved family.
