September 1, 2023: After the successful moon mission Chandrayaan-3, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch India’s first solar mission, Aditya-L1 on September 2nd from Satish Dhawan Space Centre of Sriharikota.



Aditya-L1 is a spacecraft to study the solar atmosphere. It will be inserted to about 1.5 million km from Earth in a halo orbit around the L1 Lagrange point between the Earth and the Sun where it will study the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms and their impact on the environment around Earth.



Taking to X, ISRO tweeted, “PSLV-C57/Aditya-L1 Mission: The 23-hour 40-minute countdown leading to the launch at 11:50 Hrs. IST on September 2, 2023, has commended today at 12:10 Hrs.”
