July 22, 2020: Journalist Vikram Joshi, who was shot by some miscreants in Ghaziabad near Delhi late Monday night, passes away on Wednesday.

Vikram Joshi was attacked days after he had filed a FIR over harassment of his niece. The incident took place on Monday when journalist Vikram Joshi was returning home with his daughters. He was shot in front of his daughters.

Vikram Joshi was immediately taken to Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad's Nehru Nagar after the incident.

As per reports, Doctors said injured Vikram was put on ventilator but he breathed his last early Wednesday morning. Vikram Joshi had suffered a bullet injury on his head.

The Ghaziabad SSP said that nine people have been arrested in connection with the case so far. The station in-charge, where Vikram Joshi had filed a complaint, has been suspended and departmental inquiry initiated.

As per the CCTV footage, a group of men stopped Vikram Joshi and started hitting him.

The assailants then dragged Joshi towards a car and hit him before they fled the spot.
