July 10, 2020: India registered its highest single day spike of COVID-19 cases with 26,507 fresh cases within a span of 24 hours, taking the total to 7, 93,802 according to the Union Health Ministry.



As per reports, India recorded 2, 76,685 active cases while 4, 95,515 have recovered so far. The death toll rose to 21,604.



Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Gujrat remain the worst affected states with COVID-19 in the country.

India has recent surpassed Russia in terms of positive cases and became the third worst-hit country in the world.



Globally, over 12.2 million people have been infected with the novel coronavirus. The United States continued to be the worst affected followed by Brazil, India, Russia and Peru.
