April 12, 2021: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation on Monday carried out an eviction at MS Road in Fancy Bazar.

The eviction drive started in the wee hours and is still underway.

As per reports, many businessmen were severely injured as the police lathicharged a group of businessmen protesting against the eviction which led to a tense situation in the area.

Over 60 illegal fruits and vegetables stalls, adjacent to the old Guwahati Central Jail, have been evicted so far.
