January 25, 2021: Assam will celebrate the 72nd Republic Day on Tuesday amidst tight security.

The main programme will be held at Khanapara Veterinary ground where Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi will unfurl the tricolour.

The entire ground has turned into a security fortress in view of the Republic Day boycott call by the ULFA(I) and the NSCN-K.

A tight security has been put in place throughout the state ahead of the Republic Day. The vehicles are thoroughly checked at various check points to avert any attempt to carry out subversive acts.
