October 16, 2020: The Crime Branch of Guwahati Police on Thursday night seized around 12,000 litres of stolen diesel from Noonmati area and arrested 4 persons.

The Crime Branch sleuths also seized a tanker and several drums filled with stolen oil. The operation was conducted at Mathghoria No 1, Mathghoria No 2, BG Gudam Road and near Noonmati police station and nabbed the oil thieves.

However, others managed to escape under the cover of darkness and operation to nab them is on.

The seized tanker bears the registration number NL02-G-9628.
