August 12, 2020: Good news from Assam State Zoo!

A lioness and a tigress has given birth to one lion club and two tigers cubs respectively at the zoo during lockdown period.

The cubs are now 3 months old and healthy.

Informing this State Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya stated on social media “Glad to share with you all that our lioness and tigress have given birth to one lion cub and two tiger cubs at Assam State Zoo during the lockdown period. As we reveal this news today, all three cubs are now around 3 months old, healthy and doing fine.

Zoo family has named the lion cub as 'SIMBA'.”
