July 2, 2020: Assam reported 408 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday night, out of which 378 cases are from Guwahati alone.

As of now, total COVID-19 cases in Assam stands at 8955. Out the total cases, currently there are 3109 active and 12 death cases in the state whereas 5831 of them have recovered and three have migrated.

Taking to Twitter Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday night tweeted, “Alert ~ 408 new #COVID19+ cases detected today
In last 24 hours 378 cases reported from Guwahati City. We request all to follow lockdown rules sincerely
