June 28, 2020: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has crossed 7000 mark with 246 new positive cases. The total COVID-19 cases now stand at 7165.

Out the total cases, currently there are 2338 active cases in the state whereas 4814 of them have recovered. Till date, 10 persons have lost their lives due to the virus whereas three persons have migrated.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday night Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,” Alert ~ 246 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today.

It may be stated that with the rising cases in Assam - especially in Guwahati city - a 14-day lockdown has been announced in Guwahati from 29 June to 12 July along with weekend lockdown in other towns.
