October 1, 2020: BJP leader Diban Deka, one of the alleged prime accused in the SI recruitment scam has surrendered before Assam Police on Wednesday.

As per reports, he along with his wife surrendered to the police in Patarkhuchi after absconding for a week following the leakage of the exam question paper.

It may be stated that prior to his surrender Deka had informed DY365 about his decision which was an outcome of an understanding with senior police officials.

He is being currently kept at SB headquarter in Kahilipara, Guwahati. Interrogation is going on. He will be later presented at the court.

On the other hand another prime accused of the scam, former DIG, PK Dutta is still absconding.
