November 22, 2020: The written examination for recruitment of Assam Police sub-inspector was held across Assam on Sunday amidst tight security.

Strict security arrangements were made at the examination centres to check any unfair means to be used by the candidates.

The candidates were barred from carrying mobile phones and other items except pen, pencil, mask, sanitiser, I-D cards and admit cards.

The examination was rescheduled after papers of the examination held in September were leaked.

This led to a bigger job scam involving several top serving and retired police officials besides others. The government handed over the investigation to CID and so far 25 persons have been arrested.
