July 14, 2020: The death toll due to COVID-19 in Assam has risen to 40 as four more patients have passed away on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Uttam Das (31) of Golaghat, Keshab Kumar Barua (62) of Kamrup (M), Kartik Kalita (30) of Kamrup (M), and Dr. Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, Associate Professer of GMCH were all succumbed to the infection.

Expressing grief Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Sad to inform that Shri Uttam Das (31) of Golaghat, Shri Keshab Kumar Barua (62) of Kamrup (M) Shri Kartik Kalita (30) of Kamrup (M) and Dr. Jahan Iqbal Ahmed (56), http://Assoc.Prof, GMCH, Succumbed to #COVID19 today.
