Aug 10: Assam's Covid-19 death toll increased to 145 after 5 more deaths were reported on Sunday. Meanwhile, with 1123 fresh cases, the total number of Covid cases in the state has gone up to 58,837 including 16,364 active cases. On Sunday, total five persons lost their lives. Of these, 2 were from Kamrup(R) and 1 each from Marigaon, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh.

On Sunday, the state recorded additional 1,123 fresh cases. Of these, 240 were from Kamrup(M) and 121 from Jorhat. With this, the total tally crossed 58,000 to 58,847 cases.

A total of 1,734 patients were also discharged from various hospitals across state on Sunday. This left the state with 16,364 active patients.

The state has witnessed sudden spike of Covid cases in many places, forcing the district administrations of various districts to take tougher measures.
