July 28, 2020: One person died in Assam due to severe flooding; taking total death toll to 103 informed the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Monday.



The death was reported in Golaghat district.



According to the flood report issued by the ASDMA on Monday, a total of 22, 33,920 people and 1, 09,236.62 hectares of crop area had been affected by the floods in 24 hours.





It further added that the government has so far opened 259 relief camps that are currently providing relief to 45,565 people. Over 2,000 villages are still inundated and the total number of revenue circles affected is 64.



However, the Brahmaputra River is flowing above danger level in several places in the state, and a total of 22 districts have been affected so far.



Additionally, over 100 of animals including more 9 rhinos of Kaziranga National Park have died due to floods, according to the state government’s information.
