July 17, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases has crossed 20000 mark in Assam with 892 new cases detected on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that currently in Assam the total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 20646 - out of which 7039 are active whereas 13554 of them have recovered successfully. The death toll has risen to 50 in the state.

Out of these, 598 patients are from Kamrup (Metro), which include 184 from Guwahati Jail

On the other hand, 666 patients have been discharged after they tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday.
