June 29, 2020: On Sunday, 327 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported Assam along with another new death due to the virus.

June 29, 2020: On Sunday, 327 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported Assam along with another new death due to the virus.



This has led the total tally of positive cases in the state to 7492 whereas death toll has risen to 11 in the state.





Out the total cases, currently there are 2338 active cases in the state whereas 5088 of them have recovered. It may be stated that three patients have migrated.



Taking to Twitter on Sunday night Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,” Sad to inform that one Hemanga Majumdar, 45 yrs old, resident of Khanapara, Guwahati died due to COVID-19 today in GMCH. He was brought to the hospital late, in critical state. The doctors could not save him. My sincere condolences to the bereaved family.”





Again at midnight he tweeted about the new cases,” Alert ~ 327 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Out of these, 195 cases were reported in Guwahati City in last 24 hours.

It may be stated that due to the ongoing rise in COVID-19 cases and the fear of community transmission Guwahati is under lockdown for 14-days from today. Whereas, other towns and regions will be undergoing weekend lockdown.
