November 19, 2020: The Assam Police arrested two more persons in the minority scholarship scam on Thursday.

"In connection with the CID P.S(PRE-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP) CASE NO.29/2020 U/S 120(B)/406/409/419/420/468/471 IPC, today on 19/11/2020, arrested accused persons namely Sukumuddin and Ushob Ali have been sent to judicial custody on completion of their remand period.

Further, arrested accused person namely, Jahangir Alam was produced before hon'ble court with a prayer of five days police remand. However, hon'ble court sent him to judicial custody", said a press release by Assam Police.

With these arrests, the number of total arrest in connection with the case has gone up to 27.
