August 4, 2021: Hours after a Washington judge reported that Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates are formally separated; the couple has something to cheer about on account of their future son-in-law Nayel Nasser.

Nayel Nassar is engaged to Jennifer Gates, the daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda. Hence, it shocked no one that both supported Nassar on social media.

The equestrian rider from Egypt has set up a heavenly execution at the Tokyo Olympics and got a spot in the final. With a run of 17 obstacles, Nayel Nassar is currently one step nearer to win at the tournament.

The 30-year-old Nassar will take part in the jumping individual qualifier at Tokyo’s Equestrian Park on Aug. 3.

Bill Gates has sent a message of support to son-in-law Nayel Nassar ahead of the Egyptian’s participation at Tokyo 2020’s equestrian competition.

“I’m rooting for lots of the athletes in Tokyo right now—but none more than my soon-to-be son-in-law, @nayelnassar. Good luck, Nayel!” Gates, the founder of Microsoft, said in a post on his official Instagram account.

Sharing a photo of Mr Nassar, Ms Melinda also said that this time around the Olympics was particularly special due to the rider's presence. In a note, she said, “I always love watching the Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics are particularly special because I get to cheer on my future son-in-law, Nayel Nassar. We are so proud of you, Nayel (and Igor),” referring to Mr Nassar's horse, Igor van de Wittemoere.

Nayel Nassar and Jennifer Gates had announced their engagement in January 2020. While the details on when the two will tie the knot remain unclear, Ms Jennifer had celebrated her bachelorette in June, this year.
