September 29, 2023: Over 50 people were killed and around 100 others critically injured in a suicide blast near a mosque in Pakistan's Balochistan province on Friday.



The explosion occurred near Madina Mosque in the Mastung district when people were gathering for a rally to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. A Police official who was on duty for the rally has also lost his life in the explosion.





According to Police, it is suspected that the explosion was a “suicide blast” and it exploded next to DSP's car.



Balochistan interim Information Minister Jan Achakzai said some rescue teams were immediately dispatched to Mastung. The injured persons were taken to medical facility for their treatment while an emergency was imposed in the hospitals.
