April 7, 2020: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who tested positive for coronavirus on March 26, was moved to an intensive care unit in a London hospital after his condition worsened on Monday evening.



Foreign secretary Dominic Raab will be leading the UK government response to the coronavirus while Johnson is in hospital, according to the sources.



Johnson, 55, was admitted to hospital on Sunday night and had been undergoing tests after suffering persistent coronavirus symptoms, including a high temperature, for more than 10 days.



Globally, the number of people diagnosed with the virus now exceeds 1.3 million. More than 74,500 people have died while more than 276,515 have recovered, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
