March 8, 2025: Radhika Apte, the sweetheart of OTT; is all set to make directorial debut with the action-fantasy film “Kotya” (also known as “Koyta” or “Sickle”). The film, produced by Vikramaditya Motwane, tells the story of a young migrant sugarcane cutter who gains superpowers after undergoing a forced medical procedure and uses them to help free her family from debt.

“Kotya” will be a Hindi/Marathi film and is part of the Cine-CHD Market lineup, alongside other projects from established and emerging filmmakers. Radhika Apte, known for her critically acclaimed performances in films like “Padman”, “Andhadhun”, and “Monica o My Daeling”, is not only directing but also starring in the film.

This announcement comes after Radhika’s recent project, “Sister Midnight”, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received a BAFTA nomination. She’s also set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series “Akka”, a period thriller alongside Keerthy Suresh.
