February 7, 2023: The death toll in Turkey-Syria Earthquake has risen to over 5000 and thousands have been injured on Tuesday. Several people are still said to be trapped under the rubble.



Few hours ago, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hits Turkey’s Golbasi town located in the Central Anatolia region of Ankara Province.



India has sent a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and a specially trained dog squad to help rescue the earthquake-affected victims.

India’s Agra based Army Field Hospital has dispatched an 89-member medical team to Turkey. The team comprises of critical care specialist teams including Orthopaedic Surgical Team, General Surgical Specialist Team, and Medical Specialist Teams apart from other medical teams. The teams are equipped with X-ray machines, ventilators, Oxygen generation plant, Cardiac monitors and associated equipment to establish a 30-bedded medical facility.



Earlier on Monday, two tremors of high magnitude like 7.8 and 7.6 strikes different location of Turkey and Syria on Monday.
