Couple demands $240 from guests who did not show up nor called the couple informing them about their unavailability

August 30, 2021: Weddings are an expensive affair. Starting from the various rituals to decoration and arrangements to food, weddings can leave a hole in peoples’ pockets. Often in most weddings the  biggest concern for most hosts is that the food should not be less or go waste. But what do you do when you have arranged for enough food but many of your guests do not show up?

A couple from Chicago decided to send invoices to the guests who did not show up and did not even inform the guests beforehand about their unavailability. The couple termed the guests as “no call no show guests” and mailed them invoices amounting to $240 each.

Posting the photo on Facebook, the groom, Doug, wrote "Don't be offended when I send this #invoice to you. It's gonna look something like this. I'll be sending it via email and certified mail... just in case you say you ain't get the email #PETTYPOST."

The couple also wrote a note: "This invoice is being sent to you because you confirmed seat(s) at the wedding reception during the Final Headcount. The amount above is the cost of your individual seats. Because you didn't call or give us proper notice that you wouldn't be in attendance, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seat(s) in advance. You can pay via Zelle or PayPal. Please reach out to us and let us know which method of payment works for you. Thank you!"

The couple’s Facebook post has garnered thousands of likes and has been shared over six thousand times.
