December 8, 2021: An Army chopper with Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on board has crashed at Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesay.



Four people have died in the Army Mi-17V5 helicopter crash and the chopper burst into flames.



According to some information, there were 14 people on board, 3 have been rescued.



India’s Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat along with his wife, defence assistant, security commandos and an IAF pilot were on board the Mi-17V5 chopper when it crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu.



Confirmation is awaited regarding the condition of General Rawat and others.



CDS Bipin Rawat, CDS Bipin Rawat was en route to Wellington in Coonoor from the Indian Air Force base in Sulur near Coimbatore. He left Delhi for Sulur earlier today.
