December 8, 2020: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi has alleged that CM Arvind Kejriwal has been put under a virtual house arrest since he returned after visiting the protesting farmers at the Singhu border on Monday.

AAP sources have alleged Arvind Kejriwal has been put under house arrest-like conditions. All meetings of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have been cancelled.

AAP sources have further alleged that on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, police have placed the three mayors of the municipal corporation of Delhi on dharna outside the main gate of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. Citing this dharna, police have barricaded Kejriwal’s residence.

In a tweet, AAP has said, "BJP's Delhi Police has put Hon'ble CM Shri @ArvindKejriwal under house arrest ever since he visited farmers at Singhu Border yesterday. No one has been permitted to leave or enter his residence."

However, Delhi Police sources have refuted the charges. DCP North has said the allegations are a lie and baseless. “Our force is stationed there. Arvind Kejriwal left at 8 pm yesterday and also after 10 pm,” the officer has said.
