October 15, 2020: Former Karimganj SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna was on Thursday detained by the CID of Assam Police. The senior officer, who was not traceable for last 24 hours, was taken into custody by the CID from the DGP office.

In a dramatic turn of events, the officer turned up at the DGP office in the morning. Soon a team of officers started grilling him there.

Later in the day, the CID took him into custody and brought him to the CID headquarters for further investigation.

Kumar Sanjit Krishna is suspected to have played a role in the SI Exam paper leak scam. It is suspected that it was in Karimganj that the packet of papers was opened before the examination.
