November 5, 2021 Meghalaya people gets a much awaited announcement on Thursday. A new district is going to be inaugurated in the state of Meghalaya on November 10. The local Mairang MLA Metbah Lyngdoh and other assembly members informed that the new district Mairang will be inaugurated by  Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on 10th of November.

Metbah Lyngdoh also stated that villages that fall under Mairang and Mawthadraishan constituencies will fall under new district Mairang. CM of Meghalya informed that the government is much stressed already about bringing the people and their demands across the quarters of sub division and districts of Meghalaya state.
