June 17, 2022: Protests against the Central government’s Agnipath scheme, the new military recruitment policy, have intensified in different parts of India, particularly the northern states. Mobs set trains on fire in several states this morning affecting train services.

The Northeast Frontier Railway has cancelled three trains so far because of the massive protests. The cancelled trains are -- 15909 Dibrugarh-Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express, 15483 Alipurduar-Delhi Sikkim Mahananda Express and 12505 Kamakhya-Anand Vihar Terminal North East  Express.

Speaking to DY365 Digital, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway, Sabyasachi Dey said that these are the three trains which have been cancelled so far but more trains might get cancelled because of the intense protests going on in Bihar and other states through which trains from the Northeast pass to reach the various destinations.
