November 12, 2022: Voting across 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh began at 8 AM, Saturday amid tight security arrangements.  



The total number of voters have been estimated to be 55,92,828 who will be deciding the fate of 412 candidates across 68 seats.



Out of total number of voters 27,37,845 are female voters and 28,54,945 are male and 38 are from third category. The representation of woman candidate is 24.



The high voltage election campaigning by the political parties has ended on November 10th.

The fight is in between the ruling BJP which is trying to retain power ditching the trend of alternate party coming to power every 5 years since 1982. Congress is banking on '10 guarantees' that the party listed out in its manifesto. AAP is in line to leave a mark in the state.



Besides this three parties Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP), Communist Party of India(Marxist), Communist Party of India(CPI) and Rashtriya Devbhumi Party(RDP) are in the fray.



A total of 7881 have been set up for today's poll. The district of Kangra has highest 1625 polling stations while Lahaul-Spiti has the lowest with 92 polling stations. There are 7,235 polling station in rural area and 646 station in urban areas.



In 2017 BJP swept the Himachal polls bagging 44 of 68 seats while Congress managed to sweep 21 seats only.
