OCTOBER 29, 2024 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a series of healthcare projects worth approximately ₹12,850 crore on October 29, aimed at bolstering India’s healthcare infrastructure. The projects, announced on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and 9th Ayurveda Day at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, include key expansions in health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), specifically extending benefits to all senior citizens aged 70 and above.
Among the highlights of the launch are the U-WIN portal, which will digitize the vaccination process for pregnant women and children, ensuring timely administration of vaccines against 12 preventable diseases. Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate a Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and the second phase of India’s First All India Institute of Ayurveda, including the establishment of new healthcare facilities such as a Panchakarma hospital and an Ayurvedic pharmacy.
The Prime Minister’s focus on healthcare continues to prioritize quality services, with additional projects aimed at improving research, development, and testing infrastructure to enhance the nation’s healthcare ecosystem.
