September 14, 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be travelling to the US to attend the Leaders’ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework in Washington to be held on September 24.



The Summit is being hosted by US President Joe Biden. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga will also attend the summit.





This will be the first in-person Quad summit hosting the leaders of the four nations. The Summit in March was done in the virtual format.

According to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs, the leaders will review the Quad vaccine initiative for Covid-19 which was announced in March this year.





On September 25, PM Modi is scheduled to address the General Debate of the High-Level Segment of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The theme for this year’s General Debate is "Building Resilience through hope to recover from Covid-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalise the United Nations".
